Welcome to the NEW Poverty Law Practice Manual Wiki
The Arkansas Poverty Law Practice Manual has returned in 2007 with the launch of a brand new website wiki that allows the user (you the advocate) to easily edit or contribute content to the PLPM.  The Poverty Law Practice Manual has a long history of helping advocates help Arkansans and, as a pro bono or legal aid attorney, you now have access to this exciting new resource. 

What is a Wiki?
The word wiki is a Hawaiian word meaning "quick". Wiki systems are therefore designed so that their content can be made available in a quick and uncomplicated manner. A wiki is a website that allows visitors to add, remove, and edit content. It is a collaborative technology for organizing information on websites. 

How Do I get Access?
You will receive an additional email inviting you to the wiki.  Simply click on the link provided and create a user account.  The Arkansas Legal Services website is integrated into the wiki so we suggest you use the same user name and password for convenience. If you do not receive an email invitation and would like one then please click here.

What is the Poverty Law Practice Manual?
The manual is designed as a desk reference for legal services staff and pro bono private attorneys. It offers practical, basic information on selected matters that can arise in the course of representing low income Arkansans.

It includes ten sections written by advocates for advocates.  The sections include: Civil Procedure; Consumer Law; Family Law; Juvenile Law; Landlord/Tenant Law; Migrant Workers Law; Public Benefits Law; Disability Rights Law; Social Security Disability Benefits Law; and Unemployment Compensation Law.
